Mary Scott Nature Park is a Certified Wildlife Sanctuary by Georgia Audubon. Georgia Audubon’s Wildlife Sanctuary Program recognizes and encourages people enhance their land for birds and other wildlife.
Nesting Spots
There are a number of boxes in the park. They get cleaned out every September. Try to locate them, but please do not disturb. Let us know if you see birds nesting!
- Bluebird box 1 – In big field: Occupied
- Bluebird box 2 – off main path near church yard: Unoccupied
- Bluebird box 3 – deeper woods on pole at bottom of hill on main path: Unoccupied
- Bluebird box 4 – in the woods on a pole: Unoccupied
- Woodpecker Box – on a pine about 15′ up by Overlook West entrance: Unknown
- Bat box – unused phone pole along the eastern side of the loop trail: Unknown
- Phoebe Cradle – Near the creek: unoccupied
